About the project

DESCRIPTION

Blockchain is one of the major breakthroughs of the past decade.
A technology that allows large groups of people and organisations to reach agreement on and permanently record information without a central authority, it has been recognised as an important tool for building a fair, inclusive, secure and democratic digital economy. This has significant implications for how we think about many of our economic, social and political institutions.

The EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum launched by the European Commission in 2018 is a European initiative to accelerate blockchain innovation and the development of the blockchain ecosystem within the EU.

THE CHALLENGE

Raising awareness among experts and the general public about EU activities and achievements in the blockchain field, aiming to highlight Europe’s position as a leading location for technological and economic innovation, and help ensure that Europe maintains its competitiveness on the global stage.

THE SOLUTION

As the head of a consortium that includes technology leaders, top universities and research organisations specialised in the field of blockchain, SCOPE is boosting the visibility of the EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum, focusing on expanding and strengthening its activities in the ever-growing sector of blockchain technology.

We produce reports and thematic papers on the latest trends and news stories in the field of blockchain, maintain the initiative’s web platform, organise online workshops and major events that host key experts in the field of blockchain technology and are attended by hundreds of participants, and produce targeted communication products, including the social media content and newsletters.
