Pursuing a career in research is no easy feat. In addition to the actual research, the road is riddled with grant application deadlines, job insecurity and precarity, frequent international trips to participate in conferences and events, and, for many, settling in a new country.

The Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) brings together researchers of all career stages from all scientific disciplines, providing career development opportunities and supporting the wider research community on topics affecting research and researchers' lives. It also acts as a major platform for researchers to network across disciplines and contribute to shaping science policy in Europe. 

The challenge
Ensuring the continued growth of the MCAA community, and enhancing the flow of knowledge across different countries, sectors of the economy, and scientific disciplines.

The solution
SCOPE has been providing services to the MCAA since 2012, supporting the association in its evolving needs and collaborating closely with its Board, Chapters and Groups. 
SCOPE’s work has contributed to the Association’s growing visibility and expansion of its membership base (from 7,000 to more than 20,000 members).

A broad portfolio of communication actions is harnessed in SCOPE’s work with the MCAA, including graphic design and audio-visual production, social media management and community management, provision of analytics and reporting services for the MCAA platform and social media, website development and provision of digital tools and software solutions.

SCOPE produces editorial content for the Association, including news articles and input for magazines and newsletters, in addition to coordinating the content drafted by MCAA members.

We also handle ad-hoc communication requests from the MCAA’s bodies and provide communication and supporting services for the MCAA General Assembly.
